Is Fraxel laser recommended to treat a lip scar?
Fraxel lasers can be used to improve the texture and color of scars on the face and body. We recommend several different types of fractional lasers in our Santa Monica plastic surgery office, especially in new scars that have formed after trauma or surgery. Lip lift scars are commonly seen underneath the nose and these may become permanent if not treated early. At Kare Plastic Surgery, we use a thulium fractional laser known as LaseMD, Clear and Brilliant, Fraxel, and Fractional CO2 to help improve these scars.
We would recommend the Vbeam laser for fresh red scars that have signs of inflammation and redness. Dr. Karamanoukian can titrate the laser setting to deliver more or less energy to eliminate the scar.
