Options for Lip Fillers with Kare Plastic Surgery
Lip augmentation can help you achieve a more youthful facial silhouette by optimizing the volume of the upper and lower lips. If you were considering lip augmentation, you may be a candidate for dermal fillers that are used along the lip line and body of the lips.
Juvederm and Restylane are FDA approved to volumize soft tissue and have been used for over a decade as a safe and effective dermal filler. At Kare Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology Center in Santa Monica, Juvederm and Restylane treatments for volume lip enhancement are performed after a careful discussion of options to determine whether you are a candidate for dermal fillers. We will include a thorough skin evaluation and consultation to also assess the amount of skin laxity and volume in the face.
We recommend either Juvederm or Restylane for lip volume injections as they are suitable fillers for Lip enhancement. If you live in the Santa Monica, Brentwood, or Pacific Palisades areas, schedule a consultation for lip fillers in our office by calling 310-998-5533.
You should expect to spend about 20 to 30 minutes in our office to go over risks and benefits of lip fillers, followed by the treatment. Depending on the number of syringes that are used, the cost will vary.
Juvederm fillers use hyaluronic acid for lip augmentation and generally last longer than one year in the soft tissue. Volume can also be enhanced in the nasolabial smile folds or for deep acne scars.
During your treatment, we may also suggest additional fillers for the cheeks, smile lines, and jawline. Lip fillers can be used alongside Botox injections for the fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and forehead.

During your first consultation, Dr. Karamanoukian will carefully examine your facial profile and silhouette in order to create an individualized treatment plan that may involve surgical and nonsurgical options depending on your needs. Most people will benefit by the injection of dermal filler's into the soft tissue as this treatment can add youthful volume to the skin. During your treatment, our clinicians well prep the area in anticipation of a hyaluronic acid-based filler such as Juvederm or Restylane. Patient's note some discomfort in the area during the injections and this can be minimized with the use of a topical anesthetic or skin cooling device to minimize pain.
Immediately after your injection, you will notice some mild swelling that is temporary and usually subsides within several hours. Results may appear immediately and may improve over the course of the next few days and weeks as the filler begins to blend into your normal soft tissue. We recommend avoiding strenuous activity immediately after treatment. Mild bruising can be improved with application of Plato's Bruise Balm Which contains Arnica and bromelain.
